Taslima Begum is a dynamic women leader who is living in Jashore town and was born in very poor family. She was married at the age of 11 years. From her childhood, she had in her mind to bringing changes in the life of distress people especially the women. Her education was class VIII.

She came to know about the works of IED and the women groups’ activities. One day she joined in event of the IED organized group in her area. She also learned that IED works for the development of women. Taslima then contacted with IED and formed 20 members group upon talking with them and named as Baisakhi Nari Dal (Baisakhi women group).

She received leadership, entrepreneurship trainings from IED. She became excited to make group members aware about their rights, entitlements, resource mobilization, and undertake income generating activities. She stands beside any group member, and person to provide support and any help needed. Few days back, fire broke out in her area and six houses were completely burnt into ashes. The people lost everything being burned down their houses and became completely destitute. They had no scope and opportunity of food and clothing. In this situation, Taslima engaging group members to collect money from the rich people of the area and buy food with that money and give it to them. In this way, she is trying to stand beside the people in danger of her area. It is her dream to do something better for the society and stand beside the people in the future and to stay in the hearts of people through action. She is very active to make all the group members sensitive about the improvement of their livelihood and empowerment of women.
