Brief description of the project
The major focus of the project are Women Empowerment and livelihood development; Promote peoples initiatives to address local and national level issues related to women, environment and minorities.
Goal
The women, minority (ethnic and religious) and disadvantaged group have improved their economic and socio-cultural conditions.
Project objectives (outcome level)
Project objective 1: Women from the target group are participating in family and community decision making process.
Project Objective 2. Peoples’ initiatives with support from activists and youth form part of a civil society that is engaged in 8 districts for the rights of women, ethnic and religious minorities, and other marginalized groups.
Project Objective 3. The livelihood of indigenous communities in Rajshahi, Sherpur and Dinajpur have improved.
Indicators to measure achievement of objectives
Indicator 1.1. By the end of the project, at least 700 women from Mymensingh and Jashore district report of increased participation in family decisions.
Indicator 2.1. Every six months around 300 news reports on peoples’ initiatives are published in the 8 project districts in the daily newspapers (on the rights of the target groups mentioned in this objective.
Indicator 2.2. At least 100 youth support from the moment they started to participate in the social media workshops, disseminator of information of indigenous rights and issues through digital channels at a monthly basis.
Indicator 3.1. By the end of the project, 70% of the indigenous youth, who participated in the training courses (30 men and 15 women) each have a monthly income of at least TK.3000.
Indicator 3.2. By the end of the project the youth who were trained during this and previous phase of the project, have employed in each of the 3 districts, at 30 more youth from their communities without support from IED.
