Janaudyog organized first-ever hiking event in Sherpur
Janudyog- a civil society platform organized a hiking program with Scouts and Rovers in Sherpur under the slogan ‘Come change the country, change the world’. This is the first ever hiking program in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Tarafdar Mahmudur Rahman inaugurated the program at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on the morning of January 22, 2025. Apart from that, the event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Hafiza Jasmine, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Mohammad Rajib Ul Ahsan, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan and officials from various departments of the state, anti-discrimination leader Mamunur Rahman, members of the District Scout and District Rover Committee, Teachers and students, Janaudyog members, and citizen representatives.
130 scouts and rovers, divided into 5 teams, carried out cleanliness drives at important points in the city. They also participated in awareness campaign event on traffic congestion and traffic management, road accident prevention, public safety, civic order, noise and plastic pollution prevention, and environmental and health protection.
In the afternoon, they gathered at the central Shaheed Minar premises in Chawkbazar in the city and shared their hiking experiences. Former Secretary of District Rover Md. Mujibur Rahman, District Rover Ad Hoc Committee Member Minhaj Uddin, Convener of Jan Udyog Sherpar Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Member Secretary Hakim Babul, Unit Leader Matiur Rahman and others spoke at the closing ceremony.
