Jibanjayee – Jananudyog joint workshop at Folk Center
Jibanjayee, a platform founded by Dhaka University professor and IED’s Vice Chairman Professor Dr. Shannu Majumder, has taken the initiative to create joyful content online, away from hatred and hatred. Its aim is to help people find positive writings, pictures, videos, etc. online, beyond the myriad of negativity. To this end, they exchange ideas and collaboration with the people’s platform Janudyog. Jebanjayee and Janudyog organized two joint workshops on March 15 and April 24, 2025 at the Folk Center in Mohammadpur, Dhaka.
In the first workshop, IED Senior Coordinator Jyoti Chattopadhyay said that IED has organized citizens across the country to build a public initiative platform.
In addition, IED has created the Folk Center with the idea of ‘the experience of the old and the strength of the young’ inculcating this motto in the mind. Everyone can come here, exchange ideas and plan work. The Folk Center works on social, cultural, artistic, and literary issues to create a new mindset in the society. Anyone can exchange any thoughts here. Tarique Hossain, member secretary of the Janaudyog Central Committee said, “We want to work with people from all walks of life. Janaudyog has been working with citizens for a long time, and they have many stories of experience.” Today, we have sat with Jibanjayee. We will listen to the stories they have.
Janaudyog member Jibanananda Jayanta said, “Every person has something or the other idea. Behind everything, there is the goal of change.” Janaudyog is working from that place of thought. We dream of a Bangladesh where every person can think freely. Our expectation from Jibanjayee is that it would play instrumental role in creating that mindset. Dr. Shantanu Majumder said, “The work of Jeevanjayee is underway. We will also create positive content for our YouTube channel. Besides, the audio will include poems, fairy tales, etc. We will collect content from various media.” A heartwarming picture will also be at our site. Another initiative of Jeevanjayee is to bring two completely strangers get to sit together to tell story. We will record the full experience after hearing from both of them later. The way IED and Janudyog helped today has further increased our motivation for work. We hope that we will always have them by our side in the future. We are interested in organizing such events on a larger scale at the Jebanjayi Folk Center. Jeebanjayee’s editor Jahangir Sur said, “Jeebanjaee wants to create joyful content. The writing will be about the joy and praise of life. There will be no talk of sadness or dissatisfaction. People should be able to take away a happy experience even if they come to this website for five minutes.”Filmmaker Ajmir Tarek said, “On our journey, we encounter countless small incidents and experiences every day. For example, each person gets on the metro for a very short time.” In that short time, very small but heart-touching incidents happen. We can bring them up. The participants said in an open discussion that this workshop has enriched us.
It has provided inspiration for thought and work. We will continue our preparation and writing.
In the second workshop, IED’s Executive Director Numan Ahmed Khan shared his real-life experiences and the students who were involved in the project presented their research on the voting patterns of India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
