IP HRDs stood beside flood affected people

On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, in the scorching heat of the morning, there started heavy rainfall that continued for longtime and submerged the Jhinaigati and Nalitabari Upazilla, Sherpur. It was just rain and rain. It feels like someone is pouring water from a machine that caused a terrible flood. In this time, the HRD members communicated themselves and thought about their responsibility to stand beside the flood affected people who are very poor and have no other ways to earn. They communicated with IED, local elites, civil society members, local administration and other organizations and media personnels. They mobilized people and collected dry food, water, medicine and cash money to provide immediate and emergency support. They distributed food, and medicine to 400 affected families. And also distributed cash money to 300 families amounting TK. 1000/- (one thousand) per family.Many houses were destroyed. They made a list of the affected houses and sent to the concerned Upazila Nirbahi Officers, for taking necessary supportive actions immediately. Media have also distributed some construction materials to 15 IP families. In this way, the HRD members of Sherpur district stood beside the affected families, playing their role in dealing with the floods.
