Strengthening Capacity of Marginalized Students

The Adibashi communities (about 25 lacs population) in Bangladesh are marginalized and Adibashi in the plane land are more deprived in the society. They are deprived in different ways, such as income and employment; education; participation in local government and main stream society. Considering the situation, IED has taken the initiative to provide facilitating support to the plane land Adibashi students so that they could come up in the higher education, develop capacity and provide leadership to their community to contribute towards improving their status.

IED along with some activists from home and abroad initiated a program to provide support to the plane land Adibashi students for higher education and improve capacity.  The project was started with the name of ‘Plane land Adibashi student fellowship’ in April 2011 – March 2012 and it has been renamed as ‘Strengthening Capacity of Marginalized Students’ for the period of March 2012 – February 2015 with the support of SHING FOUNDATION, USA.
